Holes
The latest book I read was The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. This book took me awhile to read but after I was finished I was happy I read it. The book is mainly about a young African American boy who was living pretty much out on the streets and the only care he had was by his mother who was a crack addict. After a rich family see's him out in the streets a few times, the wife of that rich family invites him to their home for the night. To make a long story short, Michael who was the young african american boy ending up living with this family and becoming a football star at the school he started attending. My question for you is if you were in Michael's situation, living on the streets with a crack addicted mother would you trust a family who you are nothing alike to take you in and care for you?

I don't know if I'd be able to trust a family so different from me if I was in the same situation. I would probably be worried about them judging me or something. I think if I was living on the streets with a crack addicted mother I probably wouldn't be able to trust other people all that easily.
ReplyDeleteWell in the case of the "Blindside" story, I would jump right into their family! Have you seen their house? Especially if I was living on the streets, I would probably take anything I could get because ANYTHING would be better than nothing. The family in the story showed love and support and if you grew up with a mother who did not support you, you would easily jump right into a new family.
ReplyDeleteI would gladly go with the family that was sane and law abiding. Beats living on the streets and getting shot by my mom's pimp. They are even kind, generous, and loving. It would almost be like having a new family. Granted things would be different but I would adjust.
ReplyDeleteI think I would trust a family to take me in because if i was in need of a home I would take what I could get. If they are kind enough to take me in, they would have to be a good family. It would be hard at first but once I get to to know them I think it would be fine.
ReplyDeleteI would try my best to accept it because if my family was out on the streets and I ran away from them then you can't possibly get worse then that. And atleast you get to have a family and home to live in and become accustomed to.
